Sabo Luxe + Bali
The Mulia Resort
Sabo Luxe Bali Diary
Our recent trip to Indonesia was a very special one for Sabo Luxe as we shot two luxe campaigns & one formal over the duration of our trip. A big thank you to the Mulia Resort (@themuliabali) for accommodating us, the resort is beyond magical & we highly recommend staying at there. The resort is close to local markets, beautiful quiet beaches & incredible food/pool bars for the soul.. Oh but the buffet is something to preach about... Oh my. Every morning blew our minds, we surely did embrace all the cuisines that were catered. Big shout out to the freshest sashimi in Indonesia, we loved eating you..
We sent our creative team over to shoot at some of the most luxurious, scenic locations in Bali. Sabo Luxe is an exclusive luxe collection that the brand will be releasing early September. The collection is of a higher price point , aiming to accommodate to more sophisticated, fashion forward women. The collection is a combination of neutral, earthy tones including navy, beige, cream, white & grey. It's a very simplistic, unique collection with a slight edge . Casting our beautiful models, we thought they all embodied the Sabo Luxe woman. A big thank you to Zoe Cross @crossandbone, Anna Maria @annsta & Gabby Sullivan @sullivang_ for being apart of this project & also fighting off the tropical heat.
Sabo Luxe will be debuting their collection at New York Fashion week early September.
Until then here is are a few behind the scenes photos..

Neutrals Reinvented
2015 has been the centre stage for neutral tones, ranging from beige, khaki, brown and so on. We ourselves have become increasingly obsessed with wearing neutral toned outfits from head to toe, as seen in our first Sabo Luxe collection at NYFW. As neutral tones were seen all over recent fashion week shows, our 2015 fashion purchases look to be set to stay for the year coming. So how can we ensure that our cream basics and khaki statement pieces are updated to suit a new year of fashion in 2016? We’ll be mixing textures, tones and lengths to refresh 2015s neutral toned obsession.
Adding leather-look clutches, boots, belts and neck wraps to neutral outfits instantly adds an extra dimension and can be achieved with items that you would already have in your closet.
Wearing one-tone neutral outfits like Kim K was all the rage this year, but for 2016 we’ll be wearing neutrals in different tones to refresh the look.
Finally, we can still wear our go-to, all-white outfits and head-to-toe favourites by mixing textures. Silky pants with knitted tops, pleated skirts with bodycon crops, the possibilities are endless. The Balmain SS16 show mixed up neutral tone outfits by combining textured pieces in the same hue and can we just say - we are obsessed and inspired and cannot wait to try these ideas out ourselves.

2015 - The year that was - Part 1
As 2015 comes to an end and Christmas parties start approaching, we thought it would be a perfect time to catch up on everything we've been up to at Sabo Skirt. We both had a very exciting and busy year that we think needs a recap and some time to reflect upon.
We kicked off 2015 by getting our fitness and health in order, as we had a lot of travel planned for work throughout the year. We began by implementing healthy eating habits along with regular exercise and training and really noticed a difference in our energy levels and productivity.
In March we headed to Byron Bay with our kick-ass team of creatives and our beautiful model Michaela to shoot our first formal collection for the year. The Lookbook took on a Moroccan theme with an exotic vibe and we were absolutely thrilled with the results. Here are some of our favourite images from the shoot.
In April, we road tripped from LA to sunny Palm Springs, California to host our very own Sabo Springs party at Coachella. Picture delicious cocktails, boho flower crowns, sheer maxis and beats to match.
May was especially exciting for Thessy, as she moved into her own abode and in true Thessy style, the apartment was furnished top to bottom in what can only be described as every tumblr-lover's dream.
In June, we were lucky enough to head to Greece and Spain with our other halves (each other) and our other-other halves. We had an amazing time in Mykonos, beach-hopping around the island in a roofless Jeep and getting lost in the blue and white town centre. Santorini stole our hearts with the magnificent views, balmy nights and the winding roads from Fira to Oia on the back of mopeds. Kythera amazed us with its crystal clear water and expanses of shallow beach that we lay in for hours every day. We headed to Spain where we spent our final days on the island of Mallorca. There was cliff jumping and snorkelling in their ethereal waters by day and consuming the finest Spanish tapas by night. After three short weeks, we were sad to leave the European sun and way of life behind us, but we had a very exciting second half of the year for Sabo Skirt to come home to. Part 2 to come..

Grey Knit Trend.
Girls new best friend this season - The Grey Knit.
That time of year when you have no choice but to embrace those chilled winds & frosty mornings with a coffee & over layered wool..
We're all-over knits and two-pieces this season, as seen in neutral shades on the runways of Stella McCartney & Marc Jacobs. The basic knit dress combined with textured scarfs, hats, leather, suede or narrow waist belts..
How to wear knits this season without looking heavy -
Don't let an oversized chunky knit fear you. If your outfit is top heavy, balance it out with pointed boots or heels w/ stockings. Knitted stockings even.. Synch yourself in with a slim waist belt & a leather jacket to add some texture to your look..
Knitted shorts - Layer with a suede trench w/ long sleeve blouse & a scarf. Sah stylish.
Two Piece Knit Set - Dam girl. Compliment with a faux coat or leather jacket & brimmed hat..
Shoe options - Top 4
White sneakers with a 3/4 knit dress + Suede thigh high boots + Leather pointed boots + Pointed patient flats..

Race Day
Race days are the perfect excuse to get a group of friends together, have a great day out and of course, show off your best semi-formal style.
We're all about stand-out styles that are on-trend and easy to wear. This year, we're expecting to see a mixture of neutral and musky tones combined with statement belts and chokers and of course, headwear.
One of the biggest Queensland races event is the annual Mekka Races. We'll be heading to the Inner Circle, a new space of the Doomben Racetrack where we'll be enjoying the day under a huge marquee right next to all of the action. If you're interested in a day our with friends in your best race day style, you can purchase tickets to the Inner Circle

Tips for Race Day dressing without looking overdone
Trends, trends, trends - Bell sleeves, midi lengths and off-shoulder styles are so hot right now!
Silk luxe - Silky style playsuits and dresses are celeb-inspired looks that we can't get enough of.
Do not fear long, maxi style dresses for race day - we're loving formal styles being dressed down with heeled ankle boots with softer hair and makeup.
Jumpsuits are always a good idea and a refreshing take on race day wear. Super comfy, on trend and with a low back and the right accessories, you're bound to turn some heads.
Overdressing not your thing? While short length dresses and playsuits are not a traditional race day option, you can dress these flattering styles with statement heels and jewellery for a killer combo.
